Most Famous Bets in Roulette History Plus the Roulette Strategies Players used

In the gambling world there are more than a handful of roulette celebs who've managed to beat the casino's. But few manage to earn themselves a place in the top 3 list of roulette's most famous bets. Check out their stories and roulette strategies below:

Joseph Jaggers became a roulette star in 1873 when he and his team came up with some roulette strategies that were more than a little bit clever. He and his 6 friends made one of the most famous bets in roulette history after keeping a close eye on all the roulette wheels at a Monte Carlo Casino. Jaggers and his team watched the roulette wheels until they could see patterns emerging. After a while they realised one wheel was biased and the ball kept landing on the same few numbers. Armed with this knowledge they came up with roulette strategies which involved betting on those numbers that repeatedly came up. Jaggers and co left the casino with $325,000 which was the equivalent of millions in those days.

Londoner Charles Wells was the next man to become part of the history of roulette's famous bets in 1891. Dubbed 'The Man That Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo', he was a well known minor thief and fraudster in England so when he went to France he used his background in deception to create roulette strategies that beat every roulette wheel he used them on. To this day no one knows how he managed it but of course there is a lot of speculation about what he used in his roulette strategy.

It wasn't until 2004 that the next entrant, Ashley Revell, made it onto the list of roulette's most famous bets. Weirdly Ashley Revell was also from London. Perhaps there's something in the water in London that helps players come up with winning roulette strategies!

Revell headed to Las Vegas and when he got to the casinos he sold everything he owned including the shirt off his back to purchase $135,000 worth of chips to Play Roulette with. He went to the roulette table and bet all of it on Red. He would either double his money or leave bankrupt. Luckily for him the ball landed on Red 7 and he scooped $270,000. His roulette strategy was not one of the most complicated roulette strategies ever known, it was a 50/50 chance after all.
