The aim of the game in online roulette is to predict where the ball will land on the roulette wheel. There are 37 slots on a European Roulette wheel with a slot for each number from 1 to 36 and a slot for 0.

First click on a chip at the bottom right of the screen to select it. The different coloured chips have different values. Chip values are 10p, £1, £10, £100 and £500.

Next you need to make your roulette bet. You place your roulette bet by clicking on your chosen bet area on the roulette table layout. Everytime you click on that bet area the bet is increased by one chip. For more information on the types or roulette bets see the betting options section below.

If you want to reduce your roulette bet then click the bet and hold down the spacebar on your keyboard. To clear all roulette bets press the Clear Bets button.

Now click spin to start the wheel spinning. At this point roulette bets are confirmed and the bet is in play.

Betting options, types of roulette bets and their payouts:

Straight Up is when you bet on any number including 0 by positioning the chip on the centre of a number box on the roulette table layout. Pays 35 to 1.

Split Bet is when you bet on 2 numbers by placing a chip on the line that divides the two numbers. Pays 17 to 1.

Street Bet is when you bet on a row of 3 numbers by putting your chip on the inner left boundary line of the roulette table that is next to the row of 3 numbers you want to bet on. Pays 11 to 1.

Corner Bet is one of the most widely used roulette bets. You bet on 4 numbers by placing your chip at the corner where the 4 numbers meet on the roulette table. Pays 8 to 1.

Four Bet is a bet on 0, 1, 2 and 3. To place this roulette bet put your chip on the inner left boundary line between 0 and 1 on the roulette table. Pays 8 to 1.

Line Bet is basically a double version of a Street Bet so you are betting on 6 numbers. This is also one of the most popular roulette bets. To place a Street Bet put your chip on the inner left boundary line where the line that divides the 2 rows intersects it. Pays 5 to 1.

Column Bet is when you make a roulette bet on all the numbers in a column on the roulette table layout. There are 3 boxes marked '2 to 1' at the bottom of each column of numbers, place your chip in one of these boxes to bet on all of the numbers in that column. Pays 2 to 1.

Dozen Bet is when you bet on a group of 12 numbers. To place this roulette bet put your chip in 1 of the 3 boxes marked '1st 12', '2nd 12' or '3rd 12'. Pays 2 to 1.

Red/Black, Even/Odd, Low/High Bets are other popular roulette bets. To place this bet put your chip on one of the boxes at the bottom of the roulette table. Pays 1 to 1.
